To tlse Sophomores we leave our brains and ingenuity to see them through the oncoming years To tne Freshmen we leave our dignity and grace to get them out of tight situ ations They will undoubtedly get into Signed and Sealed This 24th Day of May In the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Four HARRIET COVERT PROPHECY In the many years that l have been here l have never seen Harrington more prosperous Could it possibly be because the H H S Class of 54 has taken over the small city The fact remains to be seen The first person l have the pleasure of renewing old memories with is Miss Leota Borgans Leota tells me that at the present she is the solo piano player at the Magnet She is world famous for her recording Bell Bottom Blues Leota first started playing this tune when a friend of hers loined the Navy Vvhen l asked Leota what she thought about men she replied Cant Stand Em As I walked away I wondered if this was the same Leota that l went to high school with As I walk up tlse street I see an enormous neon sign My l have never seen such a sign lt takes up at least a half a block Most signs you walk under but this one you walk through As l step back so that I can read all of It at once l see that it reads Creed Robert Morgan Lawyer At 65 Creed has not yet married He lust classmates stole the key to the Home Ec room at the high school and he is the defend ing lawyer Creed always was interested in the Home Ec Room The next person that I must visit is my old classmate Toots Harrison lmaglne my shock when the little white cottage with green shutters l had pictured turned out to be an old brick school house containing no not students but old maids Toots is the oldest maid of them all but she has the brightest future Toots is still engaged She and Rip decided that they wouldnt get married until he finished college Well here it is T999 and he is still going strong lm afraid I cant buy that one' Hey theres my Cousin Rav l wonder how he has been progressing After hav ing a long chat with him l found out the following information When Ray graduated from high school he was given a permanent contract with the Lincoln County Road Construction Co l had always hoped for Rays sake that they would never discover who dissolved the county roads Ray has repaired so many roads that he changed the name of the company to the Coleman Construction Co Ray still keeps the main street hot every night from 900 p m to l200 p m Ray also informed me that in the last 20 years 200 girls have made the trip from the gun club to Harrington ' ' ' I Il ll - I - 11 11 - - L - 11 1 11 h l - - II . ll I ' ' couIdn't decide. This included Almira, Sprague and Harring- ton.
