1953 THE PANTHER 1953 CLASS WILL lContinuedI To Mrs Dunn we leave our off beats in band and in chorus our mature voices We also leave any old adrnittanc slips into classes and our linguistic talents in Spanish c ass To the labb ring luniors we leave the right to be the s niors and the following duties 1 That they accept our seats in the senior row in Study Hall 2 That they hereby assume the dignity and poise of this postition 3 That they deal generously with the less worldly wise freshmen and sophomores helping them in every possible way to overcome their ignorance To the sane 191 sophomores we leave our deep respect for the faculty and hope that someday they may pass Through their embarrassing state and enloy these privileges that we now enloy To the fantastic freshmen we I ave our broad mindedness as well as the next three years in which to overcome obstacles of greeness timidity ignorance extreme youth illustrous examples In conclusion we the Class of ninteen hundred and fifty three will and bequeath to the entire student body our examples of irreproachable conduct our diligence and devotion to learning and our intelligent ways Signed and sealed on this Friday the 29th of May in the year of 1953 The Senior Class By Janet MacDonald PROPHECY OF THE HARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1953 Washington D C Jan 20 2003 This is probably the most important day in the life of Mr H Warren Downing for today he is being inaugurated President of the United States The ceremonies are being broadcasted and telecasted to all parts of the world Now the bands are playing the Star Spangled Banner and the parade is starting down Washington Avenue First is the car of President Downing followed closely by a float with the eight mem bers of the Harrington High School class at 1953 I will describe these interesting color ful characters to you On my right is Janet McCormick who is the President at Vassar College She tells me that the reason that she chose this occupation was because she could never stand men At my left is Mildred Layton who has spent many years of work perfecting her protects being dietitian of state and national prisons Since 1959 when she began the Millie Method there has been only one prison riot I . . S . . . , 9 . . . 9 V . etc., which now stand in their path, and in every way possible strive to follow our I .
