Foreword P rogress means to improve or to advance toward perfection. In the last five decades our school has grown from a single brick structure to a consolidated complex of buildings. Within these pages we will stow you the end product of these years. I n 1912 the Harrington Public School System occupied a single building on the western edge of town. This first building, which will be demolished at the end of this school year, has been in use con- tinually until now. However, this original building will live on in the minds of the students who attended there; and it will be pictorially preserved within these covers. T oday the Harrington Special School District consists of a consolidated Harrington Senior-Junior High School and Elementary School as well as the near-by West Harrington Elementary School. 50 Years of Progress T remendous progress has been made during these five decades, 1912-1962. Your memories guide you to what has happened in the past; these pages willshow you what we are doing today.
