The Victorious Team of ’62 by Roberta O'Neal for the Hockey Banquet This is the team - I introduce to you, Undefeated - and unscored upon too! They played as well as girls know how - Please, step forward - and take your bow. Seniors first - as I call your name. Here is your stick - to remember the game. Carol Smith - right fullback true. Played her best - for the yellow and blue. Carol McNally - on her other side, Did her share with skill and pride. Claudia Neeman, with her stick, Was sure to keep track of every trick. The last one, of the Seniors four, Is Jeanie Thomas - sure to score. Let's not forget a senior gal, Susie Gilstad - the manager - the pal. We'd like you to meet all the crew Who played on this team of sixty-two, And helped to win this victory. Here they are - for you to see! Russum and Walls are wings to remember; They ran right through October and November. Hopkins and Smith on the forward line Did a job, that was better than fine. Richardson and Blades in halfback positions Continually made the right decisions. Harrington and Hitchens the team did need For all their efforts and might speed. McDonald and Larimore could always be found Playing defense - without a sound. Coady and Tucker did their part, And played their best from the start. Susan Brown, a timekeeper right, The watch never left her sight. Gloria Schaper - a manager too - Took care of the girls in blue. No team is complete without Goalie Jack; She shoved the other teams' ball right back. She kept opponents from scoring on us; No wonder we're making such a fuss! Now! We all want to thank our coach and friend. Who paced and cheered to the victorious end. Her inspiration and loyalty were more than great; With all of us, Testerman ranks first rate. Thank you girls for a job well done. You played your games - and won! May this night be one to remember - Tuesday - the fourth of December. CAROL SMITH CAROL McNALLY A CLAUDIA NEEMAN JEANIE THOMAS SUSIE GILSTAD
