I found that some of my old classmates had ioined the armed forces. I learned that the Gold Dust Twins, Rebecca Williams and Patsy Qualls, were still together and-were now WAF's. Arthur Lee Oody is captain of a ship called the Cay Haun, where Gerald Gilliland is just a swab. Speaking of swabs, DeReta Fairchild still hasn't got a rating. She makes eyes at all the sailors. It looks as if the. Civil War may be fought again. Joyce Shipwash, who is Texas' governor, insists that Texas should secede from the Union. I hear that Glenna Sexton and Jean Sampson are great lady ranchers down there also. Yes, time has certainly flown, I wish I could have gotten all my fellow-class- mates in politics, but some iust aren't interested. Dorbra Phillips and Donneta Frees said they would rather scrub floors than be in politics. Why, here they come now-ready to wash the Red Room floor today. Yes, it's a great life being President of this great country. It's such a relief not to have all the responsibility that I had when I was a Senior at Harriman High back in the Dark Ages.
