SPORTS Physical Education is designed for recreation and maintaining bodily fitness. There is a large variety of individual sports from which to make a choice. Among the most popular are badminton, table tennis, and archery, reports gym instructor Elsie Gottshall. Bowling and swimming are two activities outside of school. There are 125 girls ennolled in the bowling league which meets every week. The swimming classes held at the Young Women's Christian As- sociation give the girls a chance to enjoy a summer sport in winter. Modern and square dances are taught during the gym periods. The girls enjoy trying to become proficient in these. Basketball and volleyball are the two principal team games. As part of the physical fitness program theey help keep the girls in good condition and teach them the value of good sportsmanship and teamwork. V , f' u- 141 Q1 Cm .
