Cheerleaders Take Top Awards The 1984-85 year was one of many ac- complishments for the cheerleading squad. The cheerleaders attended a Universal Cheerleaders camp at Tulsa University. At the camp the cheerleaders did very well, bringing home several superior rankings. The squad was named camp champions for the first time in Har- rah history. They also brought home a spirit stick and a Master Key to Spirit Award which was decided by a vote from all of the attending squads. The squad's championship win qualified them to compete at the regional level. They were in the Midwestern Region, which included all of Oklahoma and Northern Texas, and they brought home a third runner-up trophy. The cheerleaders truly had a prosperous year! Their first project was to collect money for a donation to the Kevin Hopcus Scholarship Fund. They did this by hav- ing each member donate one dollar of earned money. Their next project was to sponsor a Career Night in order to acquaint members and their guests with different career alternatives. But the NHS was not all work and no play, they also attended a play, Carousel, earlier in the year. All of these activities, and the induction of new members in spring, keep the NHS busy year-long.
