Watts. 4th row: Coach Meek, M. lorski, M. Mayes, l.R. Clark, l. Washum, Coach Hull. What can a basketball team do when they have no height? Our boys were faced with that problem early in the year, and they came up with an answer, loud and clear-use speed, and they did. They were fast moving and fast thinking, in addition to being a high-percentage shooting ball club. They presented their fans with fast moving and high-scoring games, matching wits with top rated teams all year to bring a season of excitement to the fans. The boys got off to a good start in the Sooner conference, dominating the other teams. The preseason polls rated them highly and they con- tinued to break into the top 20, then into the top 10 in 3A during the year. The team brought home a first place trophy from the Bristow ln- vitational Tournament, and placed second in the Panther Classic. They were nicknamed The Termites, Meek's Midgets, and The Mighty Munchekins, but they commanded respect as they successfully con- quered giants throughout the year.
