SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY It is getting late and as I sit here in my rocking chair, I slowly drift into a sleep In my sleep, I have a vision of things that will come to pass for the Class of '54 I am walking in the country when suddenly I come upon a small cottage with a white picket fense The name on the mail box attracts my attention It is that of Max Walters, one of my former classmates I decided to pay him a visit I find that he and Louise have finally settled down and are rearing their twin boys I say good by to Louise and lax and go on my way The next place I arrive at is New York I buy a newspaper Say! Conrad is certainly making news these days! He is one of the greatest ball players of the century! I read on in my paper only to discover that Bill Hoses, another of my classmates has just discovered what electricity is, He is now known as the greatest scientest of all time Now my dream takes me to Washington, D C., where I discovered that Grace Bell has just been elected first woman president of the United States She tells me that Betty Foreman is to be her head typlst And now I am in Hollywood I am walkLng down the street when I am surprised to see an old friend of mine, Helen Taylor She tells me that she creates all the hair styles for MGM's pictures The next thing I know it is Sunday morning and I am on my way to Church Ls I walk into the church I am surprised to see that the minister, Dwight Shumate, is attracting such crowds The church is packed and he tells me that it seats about 1000 people. It is afternoon and I see a large stadium I go in and find that the races are over but am surprised to see that the winner is Roger Cris well I hear that he has invented a new device for a B t Rod that will never let the car turn over Later on I see Zane Cox who tells me that he is so successful as a car penter that he has hired 200 people to help him build houses Be also tells me that he saw Ronald Hills the other day Ronnie was such a good I am back in Hollywood again and I am visiting a studio where they are taking screen tests I am surprised that Susie has just signed a contract with International She is to be the star in their next movie The next thing I know, I am in a hospital where I discover that Shirley Gongwer is now one of the greatest surgical nurses in the country Next I see Craig Swihart who tells me that he has just discovered a new kind of fertilizer that will produce twice as much on the same amount of soil I decide to pay my old school a visit I find that Treva Gould is now teaching the third and fourth grades and Donald Jury is teaching Commer cial studies low I am in a bookshop As I look through the books I find that Evelyn Cramer has completed her first book, 'The Biography of lr laddox'. The owner tells me that he alone has sold over a million copies Now I see Cecil Rasey who tells me that he now owns the biggest farm around and is on his way to becoming a millionaire Now I find myself in a large office They take me to the president and I am surprised to see that Shirley Eaton has reached such a high position She tells me that she has 1500 employees working under her. I Ieave Shirley and the next thing I know I am in a television studio The program is 'The Show of Shows and I ask where Sid Ceasar is? They tell me that he has retired and that Dean laggy, who has taken his place, is much better than Sid ever was I awake with a start to find that it is past 9 a.m. I will have to think of a good excuse to give lr laddox.
