MISS FESSEY DIRECTOR OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL As a new student entering Harpeth Hall one makes many new friends. Among these new acquaintances is Miss Fessey, Director of the Middle School. As sponsor of the Middle School Council, Miss Fessey guides the students wisely during their three years there. She listens to the prob- lems and suggestions sympathetically and in an understanding way. Because of her kind and helpful manner, Miss Fessey con- tributes greatly to the lives of all Harpeth Hall girls. MISS PENNY COUNSELOR To the Freshmen and Sophomores at Harpeth Hall, Miss Penny is an elusive figure whom they hope to get to know. For the Juniors and Seniors, Miss Penny acts as a mediator between colleges and students. Also her individual counseling helps each student to solve personal and school-related problems. To the Student Council she is a fearless leader who copes with their prob- lems every Tuesday during lunch. As for the Annual Staff, her wit and sound advice help them to cope with old problems again and again and again. . . .

MISS McMURRY HEADMISTRESS We didn ' t deserve to find some- one who could give her own special touch to everything in just one year. Well, we found her anyway; she ' s called Miss McMurry. Just lucky, I guess. This is a quote from the 1964 MILESTONES. After only one year those girls realized that they had found a truly unusual and capable person to become the new Head- mistress. Now, seven years later, she is still as refreshing and full of innovations and ideas as she was when she first arrived at Harpeth Hall. The 1972 MILESTONES wishes to say: we ' re not just lucky, we ' re very, very, very lucky.
