HEADMISTRESS When a Harpeth Hall girl thinks of Miss McMurry, she thinks of a concerned advisor, a wise organizer, and a gracious hostess. Miss McMurry acts as a mediator between the students and the Board of Trustees, as well as working with student leaders through her sponsorship of the Presi- dents ' Council. Because Miss McMurry is truly dedicated to bettering Harpeth Hall, her years here have .been ones of fresh ideas and favorable changes.

DEDICATION Have you ever known one of those tuned in, turned on. and alive people? The Seniors this year have had the pri ilege of learning from such a person— Mrs. Over- holser. Mrs. Overholser is tuned in to what is happening and how it afiects her students. She is turned on by the great works in literature, and. in mingling the ideas of outstanding world authors with some inspirational thoughts of her own, she transmits to her students the value of stud ing world literature. Moreover, Mrs. Overholser is thoroughly alive with the enthusiasm and youthful energy which springs from her love for and dedication to her work. It is to this tuned in, turned on, and alive personality that we dedicate MILESTONES 1969.

DIRECTOR OF MIDDLE SCHOOL MISS FESSEY One of the most obvious changes that has taken place in the last few years is the founding of the new Middle School, and who else but Miss Fessey could have been chosen Director? If you are looking for someone who is always willing to help and organize, who is known for her sense of humor, and who fully understands girls, a natural choice is Polly Fessey. With her unusual abilities. Miss Fessey has brought vitality and enthusiasm to the Middle School. COUNSELOR MISS .MOUNTFORT How many people can claim that they know both sides of Miss Penny? If you look beyond her exterior of respon- sibility, dignity, and cool awareness, you will find a witty, eccentric, definitely undignified free spirit. We greatly ap- preciate her as college counselor, sponsor for the Student Council and Milestones, and as friend-at-large. 14
