Fourteen years ago, in May, 1951, Dr. Daugh Smith was one of a small group who signed the Charter of Incorporation for Harpeth Hall. In the years that have followed. Dr. Smith has worked continually for the growth and develop- ment of our school. As Secretary-Treasurer and later as Chairman of the Board, he has given countless hours of his time to fund-raising, to planning, and to improving the future of Harpeth Hall. We are as much in debt to Dr. Smith for the beauty of our campus as we are for the survival and success of our school. Because we as students have had little oppor- tunity to show our appreciation, we dedicate the 1965 VIiLESTONES to Dr. Daugh W. Smith in gratitude for all he has done. DEDICATED TO DR. SMITH

HEADMISTRESS Two years ago Miss McMurry became the guiding hand at Harpeth Hall. Since that time we have witnessed the results of her experienced leadership. Directing each of us with an able hand, smoothing out scores of problems with care and skill, and joining hands with us in all we do, Miss McMurry gives her own touch to Harpeth Hall. From the moment she welcomes us to the school until she hands us our diplomas, we feel the warmth and strength of her influence.
