OUR LADY OF THE HALL Where printed leaves once danced with fall And flew on painted wing, She walked among the crystal trees And heard the ice chimes ring. She walked beside the glassy ponds White-framed in snowy lace And peered into a charcoal sky To glimpse the heaven-place. Another spring has come for her ; And scented breezes blow Where skies are ever Alice blue And seas are indigo. But greyest winter left the spot Where once she stopped and stood ; And blossoms from a spring of youth Reach out to womanhood. — Dorothy Stamps
