PREPARATORY DAY C I N C I I Corresponding to the Boarding Council is the Prep Day Council. It upholds and enforces the rules for good citizenship among the day students. In the ef- fective keeping of the necessary school laws ' , this or- ganization has done much during the year towards the promotion of school spirit. Much of the council ' s success has been due to the efficient guidance of its president, Martha Evers. Phi Theta Kappa is composed of girls in the upper ten percent of the col- lege classes who are chosen for their qualities of fel- lowship and character as well as for outstanding scholarship. Phi Theta Kappa is remembered for the thrills, cheers, and laughter that inevitably mark the impressive, exciting tapping service at which the new members are formally initiated. Nervous fingers held lighted tapers and trembling lips repeated the solemn pledges as the excited new members participated in this memorable occasion. Ward-Belmont ' s Delta Xi chapter of the junior col- lege national honor fraternity contributes to the stu- dent body their project of Who ' s Where, a direc- tory of all the students, faculty and staff of Ward- Belmont. Phi Theta Kappa has as ' its goal the upholding of standards that can present an inspiration to all the girls for greater ideals in living and learning.
