YVhen the girls are not outdoors, they practice serves, backhands, and swings in the girls' gym with the very capable help ol' two of the members, -lo Ann Overaa and Shirley Smith who assist Mrs. Stanek in showing the girls many of the various skills which are necessary to play a good game of tennis. Its membership consists of girls who are willing to devote their spare time to bettering the GAA. The fall semester officers were Nancy Mattice, Carol Gottschalk, Elaine Haugh, and Arlene Miller. The spring officers remain the same except lor Carol Gottschalk who is President and Shirley Smith, Vice-President. The 500 Club, also supervised by Mrs. Stanek is the halfway mark towards getting a letter. The Girls' Letter Club, sponsored by Niiss Schmook, holds many social functions outside oi school. One ol the most enjoyable affairs was the initiation. Carol Gottschalk, Carol Kozak, Pat Donavzm, Ruth Esch, Aiidfea Duval, and Barbara Crane were officers. Page 20
