We were initiated, September 9. The girls were dressed in pajama's and wore a beautiful string of onions around their necks. The boys wore night gowns,theiI'hairin pincurls, a lot of makeup,and they also wore a necklace of onions. To top it all we had to roll a jelly bean downthe sidewalk with our noses. That night the upper classmen gave us a party, with which came more torture, but finally we were full fledged high school students. The majority of our class was in the Junior- Senior play and we also sponsored the Junior- Senior banquet. Both the boys and girls have been active in sports this year, with Nancy Lee the captain of the volley ball team, and Bob Murdock captain of the basketball team. Our class has played an important part in all school activities during our three years in high school. Initia- tion was held September 21, and the boys were found freezing in girls' bathing suits. The girls were dressed as Negro men and women. All Freshmen wore a string of priceless onions around their neck and a green ribbon in their hair or around their wrist. We also had to put an H on the hill facing Harper. We had to wait on the upper classmen, polish their shoes, serve them at dinner time and gather up the plates. We gave the upper classmen their return party November 5, at Mack Dunlap's home. Everyone enjoyed the evening which was spent in playing games. The class played an important part in the activities oftiw paper and annual staffs,student body play, and school clubs. We also took an active part in sports. All of the boys were on the nBn basketball squad and Lee Murdock played on the A string. .Acfiuified This has been a very active year for Harper High School.
