This year we gained four new students. They are Joe Retherford, Dale Barnes, Boyd Campbell, and Patrick McClure. Those on the Hornet staff are Joan Marcheck and Barbara walter. Those on the Radiator staff are Lois Stump, Luree Chastain, Bill Murdock,and Mary Zielke. Joan Marchak, Luree Chastain, Lois'Stump, and Boyd Campbell took part in the student body play. Dole Barnes had the honor of being in the Junior and Senior play. Two of our students - Joe Retherford and Boyd Campbell - have quit school. Luree Chastain bec me Mrs. Lee Jennings, April 17, so she is not with us now. Barbara Walters is the secretary of the stu- dent body.

After three weeks of school Shirley Retherford joined us. Dewey Olund moved to Coeur dl 'Alene and Wilma Lou Purvis joined us from Ontax'io,i Dewey decided ooeur df Alena wasnlt good enough for him so he returned to Harper. The initiation was a big nightmalle. The girls were dressed in their pajamas, and a beautiful string of onions, and a hat, with their hair pulled up. The boys wore night- ggvns with their hair put up in pin curls, make-up and a string of priceless onions around their necks. Af noon we ,trudqed through the stores singing I'm a Lonely Little Petunia in an Onion Patch. To top it all we had to roll a jelly bean down the sidewalk with our noses. That night they gave us a big party, wi th which beought more torture. It was loads of fun. About two weeks after the initiation we gave the upper classmen a return party. we played games, ate, and had lots of fun. Those on the Hornet Staff are Bob Murdock, Mona Snith and Wilma Lou Purvis. On the Radi tor Staff is Clyde Lynd.' , Those taking partiin the student body play were Wilma Lou Purvis, Clyde Lynd and Eva winters.
