Art students contributed posters and also illustrated characters for many classes. Mrs. Huss, the Campus art teacher, believed this method was valuable to the curriculum. Students worked this year with a new substance called As- phaltum. It was used for drawing, and its difference was that once a line was drawn. it was there permanently. No changes could be made. Art classes also tried the method of working to music for relaxation. About seventy students participating in art class this year: twenty students were in their third and fourth years, and about fifty were in their first and second year. This year's events in- cluded a tour of the Haggar Pottery in Dundee and entrance in the Scholastic Art Competition. jerry Davis pondered his typing ussignmem. Secretaries and 4 X 'saggy I Linda Kerfman received aid from Miss Lauritzen in Typing I. Tina Pilch, Ginger Cole, and Kathy Wachter studied banking forms and receipts. 4, V M.. Many new and interesting courses were added to the Busi- ness Education curriculum. Girls enrolled in Office Occupations worked in offices after attending school in the morning. They learned how to use complex machines which would be useful in the fast moving world of business. Key punching and data processing offered a challenging opportunity for students who were interested. By learning to handle these machines, the stu- dents could look forward to a successful future. Office Day on Fridays gave Steno I and Typing II stu- dents an opportunity to dress up in fashionable suits and heels for the entire day. On this day, girls were required to dress in office attire, and office routines and procedures were followed. During the second semester, members of the business staff pro- vided individualized dictation.
