Sports Summary This was the year for many welcomed recognitions in the Harmony athletic department. For the year of '66-67 the Harmony boys started making a mark for themselves by having a very successful football season. The captains for the squad were Steve Reno, Dwight Stanley, and Maurice Huff, who led their team to a 3 win, 6 loss season. Honors for the team went to Marc Reno who led in tackles with 69 with brother Steve right behind him with 66. Maurice Huff led in the touchdown department with a final tally of 12. When the season ended the team was very honored to have Marc Reno chosen for lst team offense and 2nd team defense all- conferenceg Maurice Huff for lst team defense, 2nd team offenseg Steve Reno for 2nd team offenseg Charles Boyer for 2nd team defense. All in all, the boys felt they had a very good season. The boys basketball season was as equally rewarding. They set quite a different mark for themselves than was accomplished in '65-66. Their record was 7 wins and 12 losses. The high point game average was held by Jerry Deere with 14. Jerry was also this year's team captain. He also held the record for scoring the most points in one ball game which was against West Burlington where he scored a total of 33 points. After completing a very good season. all- conference teams were named with Jerry Deere on first team, and receiving honorable mention were Tim Rider and Dave Therme. When track season started, the school witnessed Mr. Downing running right along with his boys. Not much was heard from these boys except for the fact that it was a very proud squad who sent their qualifier Maurice Huff to the state meet in the 180 yard low hurdles. They say new things are always happening at Harmony and the tradition was carried out since this was the first year for spring baseball. The pitchers for this year's team are Tim Rider and Gary Drummond. MOOTHART PHILLIP 66 Hillsboro
