Band Summary The Marching Band takes precedence during football season. The half-time activities at all home football games were presented by the band. A Tag Day was held following the Farmington Homecoming Parade to raise money for a film of the band at con- test. The marching band season reached a climax when the band received a Division II rating at the State Marching Band Contest at Davenport. On December 11, 1966, a Christmas Concert was presented. The Mixed Chorus, Girls' and Boys' Glee Clubs, and the band performed. The band attended the Blackhawk Conference Instrumental Festival at Van Buren on March 14, 1967. The following week, the choruses went to Pekin for the Blackhawk Conference Vocal Festival. The State Music Contest for Solos and Small Ensembles was held at Harmony this year. Many students participated, not only performing, but also by helping run the various centers to make the con- test a success. The highlight of the year came by traveling to Edddyville for the State Music Contest for Large Groups. Division II ratings were received by the Mixed Chorus and Girls' and Boys' Glee Clubs. The Concert Band received a Division I rating. Mr. Perkins and Mrs. Hoaglin can be proud of their students, and can surely count the 1966-67 school year as a very successful one.
