They were Stafford Teigen, Mavis Johnson, Marjorie Brokken, Oliver Halverson, Marion Christianson, Marilyn Jones, Norma Arneson, George Johnson, Mary Elizabeth Young, Frances Dennstedt, and Frances Boen. Qo ' OMsulJL s£) cr wA— Between the first and ninth grades, Germaine Feda, Mavis Watkins, Kathleen Wahl, Hilary McKinney, Isabel Daniels, Donald Sauers 7-Ardith Elliott, Jean Elliott, Myranda Good-munson, Victor Boer, Dorothy Greten, and Judith Irwin joined the class. During the Freshman year, Nina Schultz, Forrest and William Roche, Marjorie Trouten, Eleanor Jacklin, Millicent Hill, Zola Bates, Jeannette Johnson, Maurice McKay, Tilford Scrabeck, Robert Moos, and Mary Webb joined our merry group. In our Sophomore year, LaVonne Ryan, Shirley Elton, and Claude Stevens were added to the list. Last year we had one new enrollment, that of our popular class President, Robert Fifield. In our Junior year, with the help of Mr. Lloyd Kjelstad, our faithful class advisor, and Mrs. Kjelstad, we had a style show and a pancake supper to raise money for the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The Clipper Ship was the theme of the banquet. Our Prom was the first to be held in the Harmony High School. This year, with the aid of our dependable class advisor, Mr. Clarence Boeck, we are issuing the first school annual that has been published in our school for many years. We also gave a class play entitled Lady Spitfire . Interest was not aroused in the game until about mid-winter when a ping-pong craze seemed to have swept the school. A singles tournament was held with twelve entrants competing. Billy Roberts won the tourney and Cecil Farnsworth was runner-up. A doubles tournament was held during the week of March 14-18 with ten two-man teams entered. Leland Moore and George Milne won the tourney and Clifford Ashium and Virgil Helgeson were runners-up. — BASEBALL Harmony High's baseball teams had won the District championship for four years in a row previous to the 1938 season. This year's team, although unable to uphold the record of their predecessors, represented H. H. S. well on the diamond. In league competition the team has won three games and lost three with one game left to play. A brief resume of the season: After a very short period of pre-season practice, hampered by rain and cold weather, the Cardinal team began its schedule and lost the first two games, the first to Caledonia 4-5, and the second to Mabel,1-3. A five-inning practice game was arranged with Preston in which the Cards found their batting eye and won by a 12-6 score. In their next two league games, the Cards beat Spring Grove, 7-2, and trounced Canton, 12-4. Disaster again overtook our youthful nine as they lost again to Caledonia, 1-3, but the boys boun- of the season by shutting out the unbeaten league leaders, Mabel, by a 10-0 score.
