1965 ENGINEER HARLOWTON HIGH SCHOOL HARLOWTON, MONTANA “NO TASK IS TOO HARD FOR I AM DETERMINED TO SUCCEED.” SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE Congratulations to the Class of 1965!! You now have your diploma from Harlowton High School. This is a mark of success. It is also an indication that you have prepared yourself for the next step into life. The steps into life never end. You may have doubts about tomor- row, but you also know that you have to attack each step into the future whether it is pleas- ant or un-pleasant. By gaining your high school diploma you know that you have the ability to meet succes- sive steps along the pathway of life. You do not have to feel that you are a nobody, that you are inferior to other people, nor do you need to feel superior to others either. Your educational accomplishments have taught you humility and the fact that you know there is much more to be learned. Educationally the saturation point, knowing everything, can never be attained. The steps of life reach on and on into infinity. May I wish all of you happiness and success throughout the years. Sincerely, D. M. SUPERMARKET, HARLOW TON, MONTANA 61 John Anderson, what a man, Drives his car as fast as he can, John hopes that some day, He can stop cars like his Uncie Ray. Sweet Dona Agan's the next on our list, The gleam in her eye lets you know she's been kissed, She say's she'd be happy to be all alone, But we all know Bob Conley is her only one. John Hagberg is a real live wire, He drives a car like a ball of fire, When it gets dangerous at 103, He doesn't use brakes, he just finds a tree. Keith Harris is another hot-rodder, He trys to ditch cops when he hadn't oughter, After six months you get the blues, Because this walking's sure hard on shoes. Paul Krause, a swinging guy is he, With a friendly smile he's off to the Coast Guard Academy, Along life's road he'll make his sign. And it will read, Tike--doing fine ! Grubber is a casual sort of a guy, With a devilish gleam in that Kenley eye, Likes to give Mr. Schopien the ran. And cam the name The Clown of the Class. Here's Gary Russell, Quiet and Shy, There’s hardly a word comes out of this guy, So we'll do the talking, as here we say, Best of luck, Gary, on your future way. Alma Crews, valedictorian of 65', Is a little girl with a lot of drive, She's cute and she's smart; that's a good combination. She'll surely end up in Who's Who of the Nation. Watson, the King of the basketball floor, If it weren't for Alice he’d study more, Building houses is what Ted wants to do. Don't slam the doors, it might fall on you!!! A hundred and twenty Richard does drive, lo good ole mn . gs where the girls are alive Burning the highway from Two Dot to here, Be careful ZEUS, Livingston is near. Jackie Hutchison, our hospital gal. Engaged to Swede , who thinks she's «cll, She hopes to be married in the Spring, Don't believe it???? Look at her rii«!!! John Brady seems without a doubt. To be the windiest student about. He'll never refuse a gift that's free, You'll have to admit, that's not a bad way to be. Lester, who goes to the gap, Lets one certain girl sit on his lap. His last name Van Ommen we cannot deny, Proves that with girls, he's not shy. Carol Kalberg, what a beut, Man with our Pep Club can she root, She's so easy to get to know, Boy, with that Bonner docs she go!! Howard Robertson really keeps right on the go, He dashes from school to sell lots of Enco , He may be a rancher one of these days. Raising some Cain along with his suers. Mrs. Jane Barnes is one of our class, She's a very happy sort of a lass, This year she shortened her name a bit. From Barnhart to Barnes--and it's a good fit! Don Swam in the broad jump sure is great. When he dates Sherry he's never lau, To be an optometrist is his future goal, In that green stuff, money, he’ll really roll. Bonnie Biegel's a fair maid with a whole lot of pep, She knows all the laust, she's really in step, In writing and talking she's way over par, With her personality, she will go far. Thompson, the cement man. Works just as hard as he can. To Guard he will go this summer, MAN! He couldn't be dumber. We have a boy named Richur, Who has a girl named Rector, If he decides to settle down, We know she will always be around. Shirley DeBuff has a diamond ring, Wedding bells is what June will bring, She'll keep Carl busy, by and by, With dishes to wash and babies that cry. Carol Anderson our Homecoming Queen, She thinks Finn is pretty keen. In Bookkeeping Class she flirts with Eller, Better watch out for Terry, feller. This man’s ring is in Livingston, He drives many a mile to see that one, P. J. 's wild, he's not tame. We're sure that VW S not to blame. He's a man from way out West, He's the kind that thinks Two Dot's best, This big, wild man drives a cool blue mill, Yes, my friends this man is Jon Mill. The lad they call Otis by name. As student council president he has risen to fame. He jockeys his red Chevy all over town, When the days become nice, he's never around Jim Hutchinson is a great little guy, For football and basketball he nearly die, In school work he docs better than fair, You couldn't find a nicer guy anywhere. Dick Hammel's muscles we cannot deny, Make that shot put seem to fly, The reason of course is because of his name, We all think that Ham puts Atlas to shame. Tom Capser finds his Joys at home, Where he and Nature can be left alone, He doesn't say much, kinda quiet and shy, But the FFA keeps him lively and spry. On the basketball court, Jon Erbe can’t be beat. And all the girls know that he is real sweet, These lines do seem to be very old, But the other things we know about Jon can't be told. Good 'ole Ron Eller is famous for his hair, His attractive quality lies in his continental, dashing air, When the gang is in his Chevy, just tooling round town, You can bet Harlo would wish it wasn't around. Jerry Francisco, affectionately known as the little black greaser , Has quite a reputation as a way out girl teaser, Name any ole town in the whole countryside, And Jerry has written to a girl there, or tried. Our Salutatorian, we call her Net , Is always with her fella named Chet, They think waiting two years is dumb, So, look out, Idaho, HERE THEY COME. Dennis Langston, our manager for track. Has political views Barry'd never back, In all his history classes he does fine. Because he really digs that ancient time. He's from Two Dot, that White called Mac, Still sneaking to Absarokee and back, Football and track are still his alms, But he often leaves town to play other games. Next there's Bill Tierney from out south of town, Driving his pick-up, he gets all around, Most of the time his Debbie he's wooin-, Keeps him right busy morning, night, and noon. Ron Elings likes older women , we note, And on his blonde hair those gals really dote, He also plays basketball, football, and such. He's just a guy we all like very much. Sandra Fulks, what a fine young lass, Man-oh-man has she got class, She often says she is college bound, But with Dave, isn't it altar-bound? Here's Mary Ginther, our lovely Prom Queen, With Lorree and Bonnie she's usually seen, She likes Home Ec., and does very well, She's bound to go far, we really can tell. Another Senior named Judy, Says I'm going out for guard duty, Ron and I with all our might. Will guard our country through the night. Lorree Ortwein is a real fine gal, With personality and potential that really is swell, She may be quiet, but she's certainly not shy, Her motto is To do or die. Della Barney with her high IQ, Always tells us something new, Several honors she has won, But we all know that to her it is Just fun. Gary Mehlhoff, our nature boy, Fishing is his greatest joy, Bright and shining is his eye, When he casts that girdle bug fly. Now our four years have come to an end, During this time we've made many a friend, We'll have to admit we've had our fling, At times we made the old halls ring, But to all underclassmen please don't forget. Always study hard cause that's you're best bet, Under Mr. Hartwick's respected and capable hand, You'll be prepared to enter the work and take your stand, While we were here Harlo's gained fame, To make every student proud of our name, Thru these hallowed halls we'll walk no more, Cause after the 25th we walk out the door, So be good and do your best at Harlo High, With these words the Class of '6S' says —bye, bye.
