7he 1957 Cnqineen Dedication Statt We, the Annual Staff of 1957 respectfully dedicate this annual, to Miss Hulda Boelter, who has taught school faithfully for 40 years and retired this spring. Miss Boelter taught at the La Brie School, the Glenn School, and the schools at Judith Gap, Park City and Harlowton. She has taught 4th grade in Harlowton since 1946. Many of the students now attending Harlowton High School have been taught by Miss Boelter. We take this opportunity to pay tribute to Miss Boelter for a job well done. Dale Schmeling Advisor................Ross Jones Superintendent Another year has gone by and another group of Seniors have become graduates of the Harlowton High School. For your Superintendent, this has been a busy and enjoyable school year. This years' Senior Class is truly an outstanding group of young people, It is not often that so many worth while talents are vested in a Senior Class. I am proud to say that I have had you aboard . To those students who will be with us next fall I would like to point out that opportunities for ser- vice are now greater than ever. We need each other, for no one is big enough to live alone. May your attitude toward your fellow students show a willingness to do more than your share and a desire to treat each one as a friend. The clock of life is wound but once and time is not measured by hours and days but by the things you have done for your fellow man, your country, GEORGE JELINEK, Superintendent ancJ your God. Ailler rides horses, herding a cow. }ur next gal is wearing a ring; ler alto saxophone she really makes sing. }n wedded life she is soon to embark, ler name is, of course, Enid Clark. Aelvin Clark, better known as Bunky , lelights in acting like a monkey. U typing he is really a whiz ut he doesn't do so well on an English quiz. vlext, we come to our Big Boss, lim Dettmann's the name of this old hoss. ie's led us through our Senior year o he'll go far, just never fear! all and lanky describes our next guy, . D. Vezey's head is up in the sky. te drives his car going lickety-split, ve wonder if he carries a first aid kit. larbara Duncan is a quiet little thing, ut we sometimes hear her whistle or sing, he enjoys most things but not shorthand, o she'll no doubt end up with a wedding band. illian Englert, a brain in our class, tever worried if she would pass, ialutatorian is what she will be, hat's reward for all to see. udne Grinnvoll, who likes to worry, s bound to get ulcers in a hurry. he worries and stews about tests to be hen always comes up with an A or a B . Martha Warneke, our soda jerk, has spent a lot of her time at work. The rest of the time she plays around especially when she's Ryegate bound. Down the road going faster than sin, is our own Bob Hubbard, causing quite a din. He likes to talk and does so loudly and plays a baritone in Band very proudly. Sonja Indreland, a bright little lass, is the total despair of the Senior Class. She's never wrong and always right, much to Mr. Dodge's delight. Dorothy Jones, the desire of every boy, is the Senior girl who brings them joy. Her future plans are to be a teacher, though she may give it up to marry a preacher. Jacob Karnop is next in the line and is usually found under a Carter sign. He always knows the price of gas, and the name of every pretty lass. Mary Dell Klock, better known as George, speedily drives up and down every gorge. She rolls her own with good P. A. and coughs and chokes the smoke a way. There's a boy in our class who plotted and schemed and finally made the All-State basketball team. His good disposition has led him to fame. By now you've guessed Don Cass is the name. Ashley Leppink, who was our class treasurer; to him, the work that he did was a pleasure. From the first of the year, he was busy as can be, how he's managed to do it, is far beyond me. Stumbling down the hall at half past nine, he comes very slowly and never on time. To all the teachers he causes a fuss, Jerry Livingston is his name, but he's Speedy to us. Diane Martin, our Rodeo Queen, is a real nice gal and is never mean. She's going steady with a sailor boy, so we wish them both a lot of joy. There's a girl in our class who loves to talk and from here to her home is a very long walk. She lives in the Snowies, does our McElvain: Delores plans to teach which will cause her much pain. 43 Mike Murphy, whom we call Mick, with that pigskin football is really slick. He was really a star when he caught those passes, too bad he was so dumb in all his classes. Carol Nelson, a cute little lass, is known as the flirt of the Senior Class. She'll beat me black and blue for this; then bandage me up again, hit and miss. And now we come to that boy with the brain. His knowledge of math will lead him to fame. He played a dumb sargeant in the last class play, his name's Terry Ortwein and he's really okay. The next lovely lady in our Senior Class is tall, dark, and quiet and a wonderful lass. Cheryl Parker is new, having joined us this year, but we're glad to have known her, never fear! Mirrorl Mirror! on the wall, who's the handsomest of us all? Why Dick Pemberton with nice big wave in his hair and his brown eyes so grave. Albert Rasmussen, our class Secretary, of girls is known to be very wary. He drives around in his new green Ford and because of it, his money he can't hoard. Her last name's Sedgwick, the first is Val and we'll admit she's a real nice gal. She works at Wade's all summer long, cracking the ice with a pointed tong. In our class we have a bride to be, she's slated to be married in May you see. Lucille Shuchard is her name, Gilbert Cameron is her swain. Ralph Schuchard has gathered fame in F. F. A. and is shooting game. He's the quietest boy in English Class so it stands to reason he'll surely pass. The years may come, the years may go, but never will this high school know a class so smart and fond of livin' as the wonderful class of '57. 44 4 YEARBOOKS 1 ft
