GEORGE JELINEK, Superintendent Once again I am privileged to bid another group of high school students goodbye. You the Senior of 1955 have a long day of life before you, until that time when the curtain of life is closed for- ever. Once again I wish that I could travel with you, because real adventure is ahead. It is my hope and prayer that your teachers and parents have given you such a love of life that every new sunrise will be an in- spiration and every sunset a belief in tomorrow. I know that you will by precept and example pass on to the next generation your love of life and faith in divine guidance. C. this year began a study of rules and regulations of several schools in relation to Student Councils, with the aim of revising and amending the Constitution. This should make for better functioning of the Student Council. ‘Retfacutd Se The Rebound, Marge Drogitis, Editor, published the paper bi- monthly during the school year. The paper received a good rating in class E of M.I.E.A. This was a drop from last year-- could have been all the mis- spelled words. The staff attended the Journalism Pow Wow at Missoula in October 1954. s4kkucU The Annual Staff worked all during the year to publish the yearbook. Only five of this group appeared for work regularly. Frances Pound is Editor, andChar- maine Johns is Assistant Editor. We just about didn't get this An- nual out this year. Kct The band played at all home football games and also at all basketball games as well as at the District Basketball Tournament in Billings. Gregor Johnson, Jean Vezey, Karen Johnson, A.J. Eggenberger, Gudne Grinnvoll, and Howard Jelinek were band members who went to All-State Band in Missoula. We received a superior rating at the District Music Festival in Lewistown and some of our members played in the honor band at the evening performance. (feuttfut S z td The German Band provided many laughs at many functions during the year. They played during inter- mission at plays as well as for several town activities. Tftcxed Director, MISS DICKINSON Accompanist, ROBERTA JOHNSON The Chorus received a superior rating at the district Festival in Lewistown. Two concerts were presented during the year and very well received. Also this group sang four songs for the Graduation exercises and received much favorable comment. 7 6 The Trio worked up some amus- ing numbers this year and sang at several school functions as well as civic functions. They made one trip to Lewistown and sang for the Schoolmasters Club. The numbers presented drew many laughs from the teachers of the Club, which proves that they must have talent. Tttixect StutevnMe This small but talented group received a one rating at the district Music Festival in Lewistown. 0p. f.s4. The F.H.A. met every other Tuesday during the year. They held their annual Father-Daughter Banquet and attended the District Convention in Forsyth. Joan Wojto- wick, Cathryn Robertson, Joanne Walker, Carol Lunceford, Joyce Lode, and Charmaine Johns were delegates to the State Convention in Helena. It will be a lucky man who gets one of these girls. DELEGATES TO STATE CONVENTION Harlowton F.H. A. delegates with Flora Martin, State Advisor. ty.s4.s4. The Girls' Athletic Association, sponsored by Miss Dickinson, met during the year each Wednesday afternoon, and amid squeals and shrieks of girlish laughter and delight played basketball and volleyball. The girls from each class played each other in an intramural contest, but no one remembered to keep track of the scores. Anyone re- membering who beat who, may write it in the space below. Kcfle cd The Gun Smoke Girls, sponsored by Miss Dickinson met each Tuesday afternoon at the V.F.W. range, and valiantly attempted to hit the bull's-eye. The librarians are responsible for having books filed and kept orderly so that you can find the ones you want when you want them. Miss Moore is the sponsor. 06ee'iteticle tuut These active girls keep the fans cheering so that the boys will be encouraged to win. This little group meets once a year, goes out to some farm and initiates new members. They tell us that their initiation is really something. Highlights of the chapter's yearly work: A check of $27 for home beautification: greenhand initiation in September which added twelve members to the chapter; the an- nual parent and son banquet; electing Peggy Thomas for Chapter Sweetheart and crown- ing her at the annual FFA - FHA Christmas Formal. During the year the chapter sent delegates to conventions at Lewistown, Billings, National Convention in Kansas City, Judith Basin District at Fort Benton, and the Annual State Convention at Bozeman. At the Judith Basin Convention the Wheatland team was awarded a gold cup in judging grains, livestock, and farm mechanics. Chuck Glennie received a bronze medal in public speaking. At Bozeman the chapter ended up in seventh place in the sweepstakes in which 62 chapters participated. They also received a superior award for a program of yearly works. A delegation of ten boys exhibited 25 head of livestock at the Winter Fair. OicAedtna The Orchestra has been in existence for four years. Practice sessions were held twice a week. For three years they have played at Baccalaureate. It is directed by Mr. Daly and accompanied by Gaye Reid. Wowee Glamor Girls! Well Well! A Cute LetterMAN! Out on the town! Seni i 'Poettt Hardly is there a man alive, Who'll forget the class of '55 We've come to say our last adieu, The school, the books, we leave to you. Roberta, with her sweet little smile, As cheerleader, did travel many a mile. Johnson’s a gal who always works hard, Stays home, studies, and putters in the yard. Miss Barbara Dickinson, who likes to read, All innocent men by the nose she does lead. She taught us English, at least she tried, Now our vocabulary’s well supplied. Our faithful Pres, for three whole years, With Kenny's guidance, we have no fears. In basketball, Jones was quite a star. You can bet in college he'll really go far. Mr. Christman, four year sufferer of untold torture, To our class sponsor we are like a vulture. Our knowledge he broadened quite a bit. On an I.Q. Test, he’d make quite a hit. If you want to go for a good pickup ride, Just hop in with Marilyn McBride. With Clive she gets along very well, We all think, as a couple, they're swell. Marlene Amdor, the brains of our class, She's tall, she’s pretty and oooo what a lass! She works at Murrys and slings the hash. And boy-oh-boy does she rake in the cash! Girls and parties, that's for him, Without them, Melaney's life would be grim. On the gridiron, Chuck's tough to beat, After a game you should see him eat! Edna Anderson from Two Dot does hail, A certain Ray she has by the tail. With her good cooking and nimble finger. Any man is bound to linger. Mr. Jim Murdoch, who is quite a card, In Wheatland Grocery, works very hard. Some day, he tells us, a butcher he'll be, And he'll be a good one, you wait and see. Edith, her sister, a capable lass, Is going to teach a first grade class. Off she goes to Eastern College, She’s bound to give those kids some knowledge. Vivian Peterson on the piano does play, A Home Ec teacher she hopes to be some day. To us she's just plain old Pete, To find someone better would be quite a feat. Sidney Bartz, our Barber boy, Comes to school for just pure joy, In Geology class he is quite a whiz, He beats poor Joanne in every quiz. The girl who came to Harlo with a bound, Was none other than Frances E. Pound. Our school annual she did edit, To her we give much of the credit. In a classy green Chevy, here comes Jim, If the tires come off, he drives on the rim. To Mr. Mason, he is quite a headache, Conley sits there half awake. Skip who carries out his name, For never being there, he has gathered fame. In the dark room, he has two occupations, Photography and mutual relations. Marge, the editor of our school paper, Can really cut quite a caper. Drogitis is always the life of the party, She must have something that makes her hearty. Joe, brother of twin sister Joyce, Calls the cattle in a deep booming voice. When there's work to be done, Joe’s always on hand, Quigley is acclaimed the best in the land. Justin Fleming the runt of two dozen, Is loads of fur and always buzzin'. At Ray's Cleaners he does slave, The money he earns, he never saves. Joyce, sister to twin brother Joe, In typing two is dreadfully slow. Her love for horses is sump'in everyone knows. She'd rather have them than lots of new clothes. Mr. Fitzpatrick's choice of the lot. In lovers' parr is really hot. Chuck Glennie really fills the bill, To see him act is quite a thrill. Talkington, on a court, can really handle that ball, When he does it, looks like no work at all. As secretary of nineteen hundred and fifty-five, We salute none other than Clive. First name Lois, last name Hawkins, To her, our class bills are always flockin’. Of our local theatre she was cashier, The records she kept were always clear. Darlene a member of our gang. Plays basketball with quite a bang. Miss Dickinson thinks Walker’s quite swell, She gets her English Literature very well. Marion Heriem, our farmer’s daughter, When it comes to sports there's no one hotter. In G.A.A. she leads the girls, In typing two, she really whirls. Jim Scotson, with a Sophomore does go, Her name is Martha as you all know. Scotty's really on the ball, Whatever he does, he makes a haul. George Hickman, our airplane fiend, Was co-captain of our football team. He is surely going to be missed next fall. When it comes time to kick that old ball. This is the end, we're sad to leave, When this is over we'll really grieve. Soooooooo Goodbye, Dear old Harlo Hi!
