We, the 1960 El Arroyo Staff, take pride in presenting the theme of our production- CARDINAL OLYMPICS. In keeping with the tradition set by the Greek Olympics centuries ago, we would like to parallel our CARPINAL OLYMPICS with the National Olympics to be held this year in our United States. As we review these traditions, we find that the sportsmanship of the contestants and the method of winning were esteemed equally with the victory itself. The torch, symbolizing sportsmanship and fair play, was carried honor for the good of humanity through the ages. Likewise, Harlingen High School with this same torch. As sportsmen, renown and to love the game beyond the result.
