To Mrs. Irby Davis, whose smiling coun- tenance is a constant inspiration to all of us, we respectfully dedicate the 1955 edi- tion of El Arroyo. Mrs. Davis is respected and loved by all who have had the privilege to know her. Through the years, she has endeared herself to her many students by her patience, her kindly and sympathetic attitude, and her unfailing endeavor to arouse in her students a genuine desire for l-cnowledge. For thirty-two years she has devoted her best efforts to teaching in Texas schools. For twenty-five years, she has been a member of the faculty of the Harlingen High School.
