A second later--We did! The winning of the Austin Cup climaxed a whirlwind weekend for the band. The buses left after the half . . . arrivedAust:in4 p.m .... Slept 'til 6 . . . Night Hawk for breakfast . . . Then the parade and waiting . , , waiting 'til the 127th band's tum to march four blocks on CongressAvenue. Mr. Frank brought back the cup and everyone touched it, then the band disintegrated, each group doing as it pleased. The next rnoming--church--People shook out their Sunday clothes and brushed their suedes. After church, all piled in the buses and headed for Barton Springs. Here was held the Sr. vs Soph. and jr, girl and boy football games . . . Here the cheering squads urged their teams on fervently. And then once again and for the last time, the buses. Six hours later they were met by . . . was it fun? Can we give Susie a ride home? I've kept dinner hot . . . as parents, suitcases, and kids moved toward cars. Finally only the buses were left. , , , we'l1 leave all the lost stuff down at the office. Sure appreciate it fellows. See you next year. And the buses pulled out!
