His prowe S s at blocking and backing up the line brought him All-D i s t r ic t and All-South Texas honors. -lame s will be back to enforce next year's fighting line. 1'6- 55,1 -ink xiii ff B. G. Renaud j.R.was limited to one year at football because of a back injury. His size and quick reactions made him an outstanding defensive guard. His vicious tackling will be a great loss to next year's team. A F Xi af--1 U- ' . james McDaniels B.G.'s hard, sure tackles made him a n a t u r a 1 for the linebacking spot. His ability to a nt ic ip at e what the opposition w a s g o i ng to do helped him to be in the right place at the right time. This was his last year. Tony was a big, p o w e r ful lineman and a tower of strength on defense. A late season knee injury prevented him from reaching greater achieve- ments. Bobby Leggett I -w:....-ff-sul ?7r1'i ' 'ITF'- Gordon was the only letterman to re- turn to the back field this year. He was noted for his hard running and stellar line backing. He willbe missed at fullback next year. George Labar Bob, a lett e r m an end, came back this year to fill in the all important quarterback spot. His quick think- ing and ac c ur ate passing led us through a ve r y successful season. He made the All-District and All- South Texas teams and honorable mention on the All-State team. Bill could s na r e a ny kind of pass and was as elusive as a halfback. His st i c ky fingers and swivel hips accounted for lolhg yardage in every game. I-le will be very difficult to replace. jack Weir I 1 1 K .ifQ..':i f FB.. ff jerry was big, rough and alert. His hard blocks and vicious tackles won him a position on the All-District, All-South Texas, and All-State te am s. He has lettered two years and still has one to go. Ruben Hees ll 'eip jack was a big, powerful tackle. His fighting spirit and constant chatter accounted for a large portion of the te am spirit. He will be missed on next year 's team. jerry Fitzpatrick Ruben was s m al lg but he ranhard and low. The speed he used incom- ing up fr om defensive halfback to meet enemy ball c a r r i e r s was an important f a c t o r in our unyielding defense. He won't be back next year. Bernie was a quick, alert guard. He c ould be depended upon to hold his position stubbornly and never yield an inch. His powerful line play will be an asset to next year's team. 11 jimmy Presnall jimmy was a big aggressive guard. His hard low charging made him a valuable defensive man throughout the season.
