Felix Pacheco manages to evade Football Tribe tallies 2-5-O record This just was not the year for Mr. Mike Barry's tribe. Even so, they were backed to the bitter end by their highly spirited lndian fans. Ten games were played this sea- son, seven of these being dis- trict 30-AAAA. Tough though the boys may be, they could not quite hack the stiff compe- tition put forth by their oppo- nents. The Indians brought home only two district gridiron victories, one against Bracken- ridge High, 26-0, with the other being against Edison, 2l-13. Losses included the game opposing archrival sis- ter-school McCollum. Team captains are Steve Luse, Mario Moreno, and Richard Galvan. The coaching staff headed by Mr. Barry, in- cludes Mr. Ken Cooper, de- fensive coordinator, Mr. Wil- liam Shively, offensive coach, and Mr. Ronny Menn, defen- sive backfield coach. At the Spring Sports ban- quet, Mario Gonzalez was named leading scorer, Rich- ard Galvan was awarded De- fensive Player of the Year, lg- nacio Alvarez was presented as Lineman of the Year, and Felix Pacheco earned the fighting heart award. lndions posted 2-5-0 for the season district football record. ln their first game, they met with the Houston-Portwood Cherokees in a gridiron battle which resulted in a loss at a score of 14-6.
