SG L FCOD TREAT Students in the Food Service pro- gram treated faculty and staff to a soul food dinner as both a celebra- tion of Black History Month and as a practical experience after months of training. A delicious meal of chicken, ham, greens, yams, macaroni and cheese, rel- ish, cobbler, combread muflins, and punch was on the menu. SI'IO0T ME HILE I, HAPPY The Harlan Drama Club and its sponsor, Mrs. Jan- lice Ollarvia, presented the Victory Gardens Th eater in a performance of Shoot Me While I'm Happy , a play about the days of pain and humiliation experi- enced by Black entertain- ers in the world of Black vaudeville. Drama stu- dents were actively in- volved in the set-up of the performance. Afterwards workshops in various ar- eas of theater were held for the students. Hot only was the play a treat for the stu- dents, but also the stu- dents had an invaluable experience. An aspiring actress reads the handbill. T ME PPY faflf W t
