FDR MALES O LY Harlan Academy was proud to highlight a new program-'iFor Males Only . Conceived with the idea of motivating young men to set positive goals and of helping them to plan the necessary routes to accomplish these goals, For Males Only has had a positive in- fluence upon our male population. The program, under the guidance of Mrs. Barbara Edwards of the Counseling department, has had three outstanding speakers. The first session was conducted by Mr. Benjamin Duster IV, a former Har- lanite CClass of '77J. He holds a Masters of Business Administra- tion from Harvard and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Yale. Rev. Wendell Anthony of Detroit, Michi- gan, who was guest speaker of the second session, is also a field rep- resentative of Holt, Reinhart, and Winston Publishing Company. Chicago's oum Rev. Henry O. Har- dy, pastor of the Cosmopolitan Community Church, was guest speaker of session lll. Rev. Hardy is anactivist in civic and communi- ty affairs around the city. Rev. THE NEXT PHASE On Wednesday, October 29, 1986, Harlan Com- munity Academy, in cooperation with the P.T.A. and under the direction of Mrs. Opal Chiles, presented a College Fair forjuniors, seniors, and their parents. This annual program was divided into two sessions. The first, an auditorium session, was a presentation on financial aid. The second session afforded stu- dents an opportunity to visit representatives from various colleges and the armed services.
