The third phase presents a new challenge lt will require self motivation to perform well, self discipline to always be properly prepared, and self direction to be where you are suppose to be when you are suppose to be there The world of work andfor college will demand a self awareness of the need to excell simply be cause you are capable of excelling Don't fall into the get by syndrome because that is the failure syndrome It is not enough to just get by when you are capable of more To do so is to be untrue to your parents, your teachers, and, most lmpoltantly, to yourselves Remember, you are the one who will gain the most if you decide now to pursue the road to excellence rather than the path to mediocrity Knowledge is the key which opens the door to freedom fself determination and removes the shackles of mental fSOCl3l feconomic slavery 5
