HARLA HOLDS GLI H FAIR The Harlan High School English Department held its second annual English Fair in the small gym in May, 1984. Many of this school year's activities in English in many classes were represented by displays, demonstrations, speeches, costumes, and reports. A good time was had by all who participated, according to Ms. J. Catherine Link, sponsor. Rodney Marsh and Colette Sims dressed as characters from the play, MacBcth. Joy Hills, Stephanie Henderson, and Lisa Livingston boil up some trouble as the three witches from MacBeth.

' 'fan In the Spring, 1984, new members were in- ducted into the Harlan Chapter ofthe Na- tional Honor Society. Under the guidance of Ms. Betty Stuckey, chapter sponsor, the cere- mony was conducted with the solemnity and dignity worthy of students who have striven for academic excellence. Every student in- ducted has attained a 3.0 or better grade point average. Last year's valedictorian, Pheobe Slaughter, returned from college to help conduct the ceremonies.
