The limbs shall reach As your mind sets the race The stump is persistence If you can keep your pace. The bark is protection Which is something you'll need The leaves are accomplishments But you have to succeed. If the tree your future? Do the Parts tell the tale? Or is that the form of beauty We all admire so well? Mary E. Reynolds Division 402 Seniors p We have reached the moment in our lives We have come too far to turn around No matter how hard it seems or sounds After high school our feet must be on solid ground Set your mind on being something, on being number 1 What ever you do in life try to be the best Always strive to be above all the rest Senior class of 1984 Good luck in your future endeavors and remember that Education is the key to success! Stephanie Farmby Division 402 We were teased when we were freshmen And joked and poked at too. We were greeted by flying pennies Most of them brand new But we didn't let this stop us, We were determined to fight while it last And we graciously picked up those pennies And pocketed them with class! Now life was looking brighter As sophomores we were sure That we had it all together , Because we were more mature Although the teachers got tougher And the courses were harder, too, We didn't give up. We hung in there, Endured, held fast And handled the year with class! Kool, calm, and collected, That's what we thought we were No more time for underclassmen There were mischievous acts to be done. We threw pennies at the freshies, Sold them elevator tickets, too We had to let them know we were juniors That's what we had to do. We may have acted foolish, Or even kind of rash But whatever we got ourselves into We had fun and we did it with class! Well, we couldnit goof off as seniors We had to face the awesome truth We were growing up, getting older We were leaving our youth So we stayed up nights and studied For an A instead of a C on exams We arrived at our classes on time Way before those doors were slammed. Although this year wasn't easy And was harder than the rest It was the class of '84 and to US it was the best! Lani McCaskill Division 401
