Mixed Chorus Vice Prssident Vsledictorisn PIIYU Anmml Staff Paper Staff Mixed Chorus Basketball Baseball -S, VERLYN ST CLAIR Secrshry-Treasurer Plsys - ---- - - - - - Annual Sh!! -------- - mapa sm: ------- MixsdChorus - - - - - Bsskstbsll ------ Bssebsll -------- 6 Seniors sud Sponsor, Mr Johnson Sen 101' Class H1story We the Freshman Class of 1946 1947, who are Seniors in the year 1949 1950, started out w1th an enrollment of fxve Virginia Cameron, Rachel Woods, Verlyn St Clair Dale Crammer and Harry Woods During the first week of school we were initiated to become members of the high school group There were only fifteen pupils in school when we first started in The first play we participated in was The Ghost Business At the beginning of our Sophomore year there were only three to enroll Rachel Woods Verlyn St Clair, and Dale Crammer Dale was elected president Verlyn St Clair, vice president, and Rachel, secretary treasurer Wzth only three pupils enrolled it made our class the smallest Again this year we took part in other plays Dale Crammer also took pai-t in A Pair Of Country Kxds Then durmg our Junior year there were only the same three to enroll again Rachel Woods was elected president Verlyn St Clair, vice president, and Dale Crammer sec retary treasurer, with Eileen .Tones as our sponsor Verlyn and Dale were basketball players on the first team Verlyn is our all star pitcher on our baseball team mg part Since there were not enough Juniors we had some Sophomores and Seniors help Since Rachel Woods was taken ill with a throat mfection, Gyra Caldwell was asked to take her part The play was given November first At Christmas time this year Dale took part in a one act play The Christrnas Package The most important part of our life thls year was when we were asked to go on the sneak with the Seniors to Denver, Colorado We enjoyed the trip very much and especially the water guns Q? ? ? ? The Juniors and their sponsor started making plans for the .Tumor and Senior Banquet on Friday May 6th The following Sunday the decorating was done at the schoolhouse On May 10th the banquet was held at seven 0 clock the theme being Good Luck In 1949 1950 the three faithful Seniors came marching back into the Harlan High School and after walking into the office there sat our new superintendent Mr Johnson Rachel Woods again was elected president, Dale, vice president, and Verlyn St Clair, secretaryhtreasurer, with Mr Johnson as our sponsor One of our first activities was the Freshman mitiatxon, when we welcomed Gyra Caldwell Loys Caldwell and Eddie Brown Our next activity we sponsored a carnival in which we were successful in raising a few shekles to add to our class fund and we are planning to give a play in the spring and finishing the school term with a trip to the Rockies and by that time we should be ready for our sheepskms, May the eighteenth 7 Our Junior Class play was Uncle .Tosh Perkins , with Verlyn St. Clair taking the lead- us. . . . . . - , u so' - - - n s I . , I ' ' , ll UU.
