Hargrave Blilitary Academy is a meniher of the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. which is the highest standardizing agency for approved Southern schools. Our gradu- ates are admitted to colleges and uni- versities on certificate without examina- tions and on the same hasis as graduates from other preparatory schools of the first rank. The history of Ilargrave Blilitary Academy, a Baptist preparatory school. verifies its slogan, Hlllaking Bleu-Not Bloneyfi Through the united efforts of Rev. T. Ryland Sanford, then pastor of the Chatham Baptist Church. and his loyal and consecrated friend, J. Hunt Har- grave. Chatham Training School was organized in 1909. In 192.3 the name was changed to Hargrave Blilitary Academy. THE PRESIDENT KEEPS IN INTIMATE CONTACT XVITH THE CADETS COUNSEL AND GUIDANCE During the school year fre- quent individual and group con- ferences are held with the Presi- dent. Our Guidance Program is directed hy the President and the entire faculty. Each student is assigned a faculty advisor to whom he may carry his prohlcms. lVith the aid of mental and apti- tude tests. the guidance commit- tee seeks not only to direct in the academic field hut endeavors to advise and stimulate each indi- vidual in his leisure activities.
