Students enrolled at Harford Junior College have a number of scholarships available to them. The Standard Equipment Company awards a full-tuition schol- arship to residents of Hatford County who plan to enroll in the Business Admin- istration Curriculum. Donald Thompson was the first winner of this scholarship. The Bel Air Rotary Club sponsors two full-tuition scholarships which are available to Harford County residents. Patricia Brown and Margaret Ritchie ate the recipients of these scholarships for this year. Also available are a limited number of scholarships awarded by the Harford County Parent-Teachet's As- sociation to students enrolled in the Teacher Education Curriculum. Two scholarships, covering one-half of the tuition charges, are awarded by the Hatford County Teachers Association to residents of Harford County who are enrolled in the Teacher Education Curriculum. Current holders of these scholarships are Ruth Brown and William Pfingsten. HARFORD JUNIOR COLLEGE REGISTRATION Mrs. Betty Sagi, Librarian, registering incoming students The Cecil County Board of Education is paying the difference between resident and non-tesident tuition fees for graduates of Cecil County Schools. This action has been highly praised by the Maryland State Superintendent of Schools. Residents of Cecil County now have an equal opportunity with residents of Hatford County to acquire further education at an inexpensive rate. Dr. Charles W. Willis, Superintendent of Schools of Harford County, which includes Harford Junior College, was chosen by the Department of State as one of twenty American school administrators to participate in a seminar in Comparative Education. The Seminar was held during the months of Febru- ary and March, in France, Belgium, and the Nether- lands. Dr. Willis was one of more than 500 appli- cants for the scholarship, from which the twenty grantees were finally selected. His selection re- flects not only his statute as an educator onthe American scene, but it is also to be construed as an honor to the county system of which he has been Superintendent for the past fourteen years.
