After much discussion about shape, size, and stone, we made the selec- tion. We soon sported the rings either on our own fingers or well, you know NOVEMBER Basketball, our favorite sport, was here again It seemed as though Jackie Krol and Sylvia Allen were still representing our class as basketball players, and June Gage as cheerleader MAY Well, of all things' We were actually in charge of the Junior Prom To all of us it was an excit ing event We all attended in our 'best bib and tucker ' The school photographer took our pictures, and we think the results would vie with any that Hollywood could produce Then, Sylvia Allen was chosen Queen of the Prom JUNE June was here at last Final exams, report cards, and off to a good rest before we began that strenuous Senior Year 1953 1954 SEPTEuBEB At last we were 'Grave Old Seniors We knew that we were facing an important year, so to guide our class most through this difficult year we chose as class officers President Marion Harnois Vice President Keeling Warburton Secretary June Gage OCTOBER We had been waiting for this day since we were Freshmen for it was now our turn to take charge of that impressive event, 'The Freshmen Reception ' I don't think anyone will ever forget Jackie Aube and Jimmy Welch, who were sports enough to drink from the babies' bottles Our next responsibility was a supper With the help of Mr and Mrs John Valardi we sponsored a spaghetti supper It was fun especially doing the dishes We next decided on hav ing Mercer Studio of Worcester as our class photographer We were all well pleased with the excellent work that Mr Mercer did for us We resembled the stars in Hollywood NOVEMBER We were soon presenting our annual one act play This year we choose 'High School Daze,' and for the second time we won first prize DECEMBER Well, basketball time was here again We never expected to go to the tournament until we saw how much our team had improved X O O I 1 O , - C , r C O O 0 ,V A I I Treasurer----Sylvia Allen 9 ll O 1 O 0 0 W O O -- . - - - 0 I 1 J L 0 r , , . 7 A O

Before this month had passed, we were unfortunate in losing another classmate, Lorraine Lemerlin, who moved to Gardner NOVEMBER During this month we presented as our class play, 'Not Quite Such a Goose Because we won first prize in this presentation, our class was very elated DECLMBEB Jackie Krol and Sylvia Allen again represented our class as basketball players, and as cheer leaders we gave June Gage and Janice hrasher FEBRUAPY We were the sponsors of the Valentine Dance which was a most successful event, socially and financially MAY The Junior Prom had arrived in a beautiful month It seemed as though the words 'In the spring a young man s fan Gently turns to thoughts of love' were fulfilled, because nearly all of our class attended UND Another school year had passed by Everyone celebrated by going to the picnic at Hardwick Pond of course dressed in the latest sport togs, ready for the fun 1932 1953 SEPQLNBBR Here we were, the 'Jolly Juniors' themselves Our class officers this year were President Marion Harnois Vice President Keeling Warburton secretary June Gave Treasurer Sylvia Allen Two more of our classmates had left us Dorothy Viscuso, who had moved to Chester, Pa , and Betty Marritt who left to go to work, did not come back that year We, however were fortunate in gain ing another student heeling Warburton OC OBBR This year we were busier than ever lhere seemed to be more to do each year F1rst,we had the Halloween Dance, entitled the Hobo Hop Next, our class play, nJerry Breaks a Date,n but we d1dn't win this year Then came the big event choosing class rings x L ' s 0 5 WA L.. 4 n . a 0 '. Everyone seemed to go all out to Krol, John Delargy, Ken Boissey, Wheeler all made the first team, team Although Jonathan Wheeler give the team support Jackie Richie Nurek, and Jonathan with Eddie Bulan on the second found that he could no longer play at every game, because of doctor s orders, he was always right in there, rooting for his team The boys all expressed their gratitude to their fine coach, Mr Canavan for impressing upon them that they could win with teamwork, courage, and faith They then started forth to work and win JANUARY Some of us weren't too happy about those mid year exams u we all managed to pass half way over the hurdles' MARCH Our food sale was held in Wheelwrlght, Hardwick, and Gilbertville Much was unsold at the Gilbertville sale due to lack of advertising However, the quick thinking Seniors, never to be caught, rushed the food to the other sales and sold it all Profit from the had worked hard APRIL At last it were so excited sale was fifty dollars Meanwhile, everyone to bring in 'ads' for our yearbook came the memorable day April 20 1954 We all about going on the class trip that we arrived at the high school right on time What a difference in the fellows for they appeared dressed in classy suits and sharp neckties The girls all wore their Easter finery, including their Easter Bonnets It looked like an Easter Parade' Our chaperones were Mrs Day and Mr Canavan They had a hard time trying to keep us together I don't believe that they, or we, will ever forget some of the incidents which occurred on our class trip On the last day of our trip, everyone spent his time buying souvenirs, and to show our appreciation to Miss Kelleher, we bought her a souvenir from all of us MA The Seniors held 'A Delightful Night in May on May 6 This consisted of a lecture, songs by the glee clubs, and a flower show Soon preparations for graduation were in order Some of the Seniors were quite happy, while others were rather sad N matter how we felt, no one will ever forget those four years at Hardwick High JUNE The under classmen sponsored a reception for the Seniors It was enjoyed by all Earlier that evening, the Seniors had gathered together to have a final banquet And now here we are on the final day Graduation Who would have thought, when we were Freshmen, that we would be in front of an audience of mothers and fathers, members of the faculty, and other guests, reviewing the past four years at Hardwick High School The memory will never vanish from our hearts and minds, as we look back on this night . 1 I . g c I 1 5 J 0 I O - , b t ..- .
