We're Moving On Up This year Harding added an elective for ninth grade girls interested in competi- tive sports. The freshman girls' sports class concentrated on preparing teams to compete against other junior high schools in Oklahoma City. The sports included soccer, volley- ball, swimming, track and field, bas- ketball, softball, tennis and badminton. As all eighth grade girls were required to take physical education, a competi- tive program could only be provided when time allowed for practices after school. Any girl enrolled in a regular class could try out for the teams. Activities for the year included volley- ball, soccer, basketball, swimming, and track and field.
