HOMER W. GCDFREY, Principal Congratulations and My Very Best Wishes to each and every one of the Graduating Class of 1957! This Commencement is indeed the beginning of a distinctly different phase of your life with new undertakings and perhaps a somewhat changed outlook upon your future. Whether you go to college, to business school, to other vocational and technical training, or to im- mediate positions in the work of the world, we of the Administration and Teaching Staff shall be proud of your achievements and shall be saddened by any losses or reverses you may suffer. We hope and believe that most of you have strengthened your spirit of service and your interest in the welfare of others while here at Harding. Also, by participation in the activi- ties and program of Harding High School, you must surely have acquired a better under- standing and appreciation of the democratic and American Way of Life. Continue your loyalty to and interest in Harding High School. Remember you are wel- come in the halls and classrooms of your Alma Mater. Mm H. VV. Godfrey, P cip Harding High Sch ol Sincerely. 8 l

I. D. THOMAS Assistant Principal As the end of the school year approaches, We feel a sense of regret that you, the members of the 1957 class, are about to leave our school. Education has been defined in innumerable ways. Someone has said that education comes from the association of the immature mind with the mature mind. The faculty through patience and under- standing has tried to guide you toward the future. Into Whatever work and place your destiny leads you, we, the staff at Harding, will always follow you with interest and concern. We will remember the pleasant association we have had with the Seniors of 1957. In our school hall a poster was erected stating that this is a friendly school. We feel that you, the Seniors, had a part in bringing about this friendly spirit. You have worked, for the most part, with fine cooperation and friendship toward each other and the staff members. As you read these pages, and look at the pictures in this year book, I want you to remember that everyone of you played a leading role in every chapter of this story. Years hence this Saga will become one of your most cherished possessions. Sincerely. wr' MF-RY HHN!-EY MR.
