Q -the many times we nearly froze to death watching our underrated Maroon team bring home the city championship. ' P --our four All-City stars, Jim Egan, Vernon Lynch, Bob Vogel, and Rol Vogel. -the bang-up Homecoming week with its bonfire, dances, assemblies, and the crowning of Queen Margaret Wiesner and King Jim Egan with all the trimmings. -that never-to-be-forgotten Johnson game-which we naturally won-where a three dollar hatchet meant more than all of Rockefeller's money. -our first peace time Thanksgiving after three long war years, when our thoughts turned to those boys not yet home, and to God's benevolence in bringing peace to the world again. -the seniors, Champ Tramp, which brought many a laugh and good time to gridmen and paying clients alike. --the wonderful white Christmas, with the joyous sound of caroling in the halls, and the beautiful assembly which pictured the first Christmas. -the Jive Hive that kept school spirit going 'through the long winter months. We can still taste the cokes, and hear those smooth records, and see the rickety ping-pong table which was finally replaced by the Student Council. -the three Mummers' plays with their million laughs. -the Stupid Cupid , Valentine dance that was a howling success in the true sense of the word. --the ul-Ii Jinx Carnival, when teachers, parents, and students all worked shoulder to shoulder for a common cause . . . bancl uniforms. -the singing of the school song after a thrilling moment in a game, or the breathless silence during the playing of The Star Spangled Banner, while Old Glory Hew majestically above the field. -the band concert, where pulses quickened to the rhythmic beat of the gay music. -the noisy, jolly club meetings where plans were laid for a dance, a pow-wow, a tea, a party, or a highly original initiation for frightened new members. -the Scribblers' movies, where Sydney Carton, Romeo and Juliet, Captain Bligh, and O-lan came to life briefly on the screen. -the thrilling evening at the senior class play. -the scramble on Friday mornings to read the Beacon, and see whose name was in the gossip column. S -the new and old friends, the assemblies, the pep fests, the basketball and hockey games, the familiar Attention, please! on the -loud speaker-all of these things have helped to fill in this wonderful year at Harding. .
