1 X 1 5 l 4 K i Elwin Falor, Cynthia Myers, Tony D'Eromo. and Kittie Nagel. x l i ' jf J une cr , 2 66 2 f 1 The balmy, late Spring evening finds the Col- iseum buzzing with capped and gowned stu- dents, scurrying around, straightening their tassels and making sure there are no slip-ups ,,,. in their appearances. Suddenly there is a dead silence, the Col- iseum takes on an entirely different atmo- sphere, and an unusual stillness sweeps over I our class. The Harding Orchestra breaks this tranquility with the strains of Pomp and Circumstanceu as we receive our cues to be- gin to take the last steps we will take together as the class of '53. This is it! The final event of our school lives-Graduation Night. ir 'lr 'Ir 'Ir 'A' ir Remember the good times we had at Central, Edison and Vernon? Sharon Burke, Ted Simmons, Judson Vfebb. and Nick Alex capably took the lead in Central activities. Our dramatic successes were ltAlways Works, Boom- erang, and A Daughter of the Gods. At Edison, we all remember how Rocky Redmond, Max Trent, Arlene Cleveland, and Loyette Stricklin acted as our capable guides. Before the footlights of Edison we presented our Freshmen plays, Bessie, the Bondit's Beautiful Baby, The Greener Grass, and Everything's Off. At Vern- on Don Hammond directed student activities with his as- sistants Dan Brickley, Roberta Cramer, and Joe Doni- then. For our dramatic debut we presented The Un- invited Ghost and Bobby Sox. With our arrival at Harding we all ioined hands and be- came the celebrated class of '53. Lowell Arnold, Sharon Burke, Rosalyn Kaelber, and Marilyn Kellogg were elect- ed to the official posts and we chose aqua and silver as our class color, the white rose as our flower, and Life ls What We Make lt seemed to best fit our purpose, Our Junior year was high-lighted with our dramatic per- formance The Red Spider. We chose Elwin Ealor, Jim Chapman, Jane Larkin, and Bill Winters to be our leaders. ln the toll of '52, we began our Senior and final year at old Harding. Following the example of certain noted politicians, our campaigns were launched and resulted in the election of Elwin Ealor, Tony D'Eramo, Cynthia Myers, and Kittie Nagel. The annual Homecoming event will long be remembered by the members of our class and especially by the Queen and her Court. Georgeann Zuck and Sharon Burke burned the midnight oil by pre- paring the record of our class, the Quiver, while across the hall, Dan Brickley and Ruth Wilson presented the latest in fact and fiction in the Harding Herald. To add the final touch to this eventful year, we presented our class play, l Remember Mama, directed by Mr. Wil- liam Calvert. And so, with our final year of school drawing to a happy close, we look back with a touch of melancholy at our record. The class of '53 hopes that it has left its imprint in the life of Harding High as Harding hos left a deep and lasting impression in all our lives.
