These girls spent many long hours and much hard work to achieve their purpose, to unite the younger generation, to strive for peace and a better world in which to live. Their many pleasurable recreations and service projects were well planned and capably executed by Clara Jane Frederick, president: Rose Reidy, vice president: Joyc Parr, secretary: Marilyn Bachelder, treasurer: and Phyllis Huffman, chaplain. Chairman of six committees complemented the cabinet. Programsl Get your programs! was the cry heard as the Y-Teens were busy at their first project of the year, that of selling football programs at all the home games. Around Christmas time, with the help of the stu- dents' generous donations, four Care packages were filled for the needy overseas. A colorful program, in which Santa Claus jBetty Muntsingerj presided in the merriment, was given before Christmas vacation. ln Feb- ruary Y-Teens contributed their time and energy to the Heart Fund by distributing plastic hearts to donors in the business district. Y-Teen Week was observed February 20 through February 24 during which devotions were conducted each morning over the public address system. At the end of the week, the annual assembly sponsored by the Y-Teens consisted of a musical talent show from Ohio Wesleyan University. ln the spring the Y- Teens joined the Hi-Y clubs in conducting the annual Pre-Easter services at the Nazarene Church. These were held every morning before school during the week preceding Easter-vacation, and were made especially beautiful and inspiring by the fact that the students themselves led in the singing of hymns, the prayers, and other devotionals. This year for the first time the addresses were given entirely by the members of the two clubs. Other activities included a winter formal, The Snow Ball: a father- daughter banquet, at which the Marion civic men's chorus, The Serenaders, gave a program of many types of songs: several joint Hi-Y and Y-Teen meetings: a journey to Galion for a district conference at which ideas were blended to bring out Christian ideals in their club: and, to end the year, a Senior Farewell Dinner held in honor of the senior members of the Y- Teen and Hi-Y clubs. As the members of the Y-Teens look back on the ear of '49-'50, they can be proud and know that they have well fulfilled their duties as a ser- vice organization in that they have helped their community and school to try to build a better world. Now then, sonny, what would you like ol' The Y-Teen Snow Ball Santy to bring you?
