Shoshonean Club The Shoshonean Club ol Harding High is an organ, ization ol the vocational commercial students ol Mr. Russell Dunlap. These twenty-three girls are at school bright and early every morning lor a morning ot otctice training before going on the iob in the atternoon. Besides this busy schedule, they find time lor lun with parties. potlucks, and picnics, and an annual Employers-Em- ployee Banquet in the spring, Junior American Mechanics The Junior American Mechanics, or the '51 Club, as they are commonly called, are iuniors that are taking shop work or auto mechanics. Organized primarily lor fellowship, the group met once a week in the gym where they were given access to the recreational lacilities. Their otticers were: Jim Kennell, president: Dick Grittis, vice president: Bob Decker, secretary: and Sandy Gay, treae surer. Mr. Eric Williams was their adviser. Future Retailers ot Ohio The l:.R.O., as the Future Retailers ol Ohio is pops ularly called, is part ol the national organization ol luture retailer clubs, whose membership is made up ol students taking distributive education. The purpose ol this club is to hold both social and educational meetings. The year's activities included potlucks, business meetings, an annual appreciation banquet, regional and state con' ventions in Columbus, and a national convention in Ashes ville, North Carolina. Stamp Club The Stamp Club was newly organized this year under the supervision ol Mr. L. G. Jones. Their purpose was to promote and stimulate the interest ol stamp collecting among the students ol Harding. The otticers which pre- sided at the meetings held every other week were: pres- ident, Summers Ashworth: vice president, Jerry Taylor: secretary, Carol Luft: and treasurer, Bob Bowman. May this club continue to grow, bringing knowledge and en- ioyment to its members. Newtonians Another new club was the Newtorions composed ot tourth year mathematics student: taking trigonometry. The meetings were designed to create ar irteregt in the lives ol lamous mathematiciars including that ot Isaac Newton lar whom the group wag namea, Their motto We thirlf we think, Their adviser wa' E. Pau Huttman.
