enior inad . . . Class of 1946 Dear Members of the Faculty, When we entered l-larding's doors in the tall ot I943, a group ot very green sophomores wane dered through the halls. We were then on the threshold ot the door leading to all the school' adventures and rather bewildered by it all. Gradually, we were talcen under your wing and you came to understand each one ot ug. Under your gentle but etlective direction, we entered into the various organizations and as weve gone through these three years, we've tound our place in l-larding. Never a day passed when you didnlt come to our rescue in many, many ways. With your help we have been able to plan more etliciently lor our tutures. There have been times when you needtully thwarted our youthtul spirit and we understand now your sincere interest. You have caretully guided us in our journey along our perilous path and have given u w secure a toothold on the ladder ot lite. Some ot us will continue our education, others will advance to tale our place in this world, but never will you, who have contributed so much to us as tuture citizens, be torgotten. Jacqueline Riddle Treasurer , , Ray Ballinger SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS RALPH WEBER, DICK TAYLOR, JACOUELINE RIDDLE, RAY BALLINGER me Quiuer PRELUDE... Eor twelve tull years we've looked torward to being seniors -and now, that never to be torgotten experience is past. It was just tour years ago that the Centralites chose as their leaders Joyce Bohyer, president: Robert England, vice president: Billie McCoy, secretary: Phyllis Metzger, treasurer. Dramatic talent was displayed in three one-act plays: Wise Girl, Suitable tor Charity, and Roly-Poly-Ereckle-Pace. The X-Ray, a combination ot news and gossip, was edited by Marilyn Cory, while Bob England and Carl l'larbolt were, res- pectively, tootball and basketball captains. At Vernon, vigorous campaigns resulted in the election ot Ralph Weber, presi- dent: Charlie Wiant, vice president: I-lelen Beal, secretary: Ray Ballinger, treasurer. The Vernonian was headed by several student editors, and in the athletic limelight was Ralph Weber, tootloall and basketball captain. ln the dramatic line, two plays were presented: The Pampered Darling and The I-lenpecked Husband. We tinally got together under the Red and Black in our sophomore year, and with the help ot our Edison pals we chose 'Citizenship today tor lite tomorrow tor our class motto. And we got down-right patriotic in the selection ot the red carnation with colors ot white and blue. Laurie Eeaver led us as president: I-lelen Beal, vice president: Joan I-lottman, secretary: Dick Eoster, treasurer. Then we were iuniorsg only one more year to go! Eor the top two otticers we decided upon gridmen Ralph Weber, president, and Dave Lee, vice president. .Ioan I-lottman kept our records straight while Ray Ballinger headed the treasury department. We got our class rings early in the spring and took care ot Prom arrangements tor the seniors. Ot course, you remember how we turned dramatic tor the junior play, Don't Take My Penny.
