l HIGHLIGHTS of SENIOR HISTORY Well, here we are, graduating seniors. The vastness of this fast changing world is the sum of all of its parts, so we'll stick to our motto, Be the best of whatever you are, and make our part a job well done. First, as we leave we salute our teachers and principal who have seen us through to the last mile. Our congratulations go to our officers whom we elected this year. President Bob Saxton named the class committees the first week in November, Captain Elvin Beach's Presidents shared the N. C. O. with Calion. The odds were great and we were proud of them. ln December, Chairman Marshall Zuck, Eleanor Browne, lane Corbet, Glen Martin, Marjorie Beringer, and Miss Foreman conducted the ordering of invita- tions. The Quiver drive was launched in assembly and was quite a success. Also in December, Chairman Loren Bailey, john Martin, and Mr. Wisehart took orders for namecards. By this time we seniors were facing a financial crisis-and just at Christmas time, too. Then after Christmas we did our usual slaving on exams. Chairman Bar- bara Stuckey, Norman Dillinger, Carol Vance, Shirley Smith, Walter Bartlett and Mr. Bain measured us for our Palm Beach blue caps and gowns. We de- cided on maroon and white for our colors and the rose for our flower. Chair- man Bruce Nystrom, Elizabeth Kerns, Lewis McPeek, Beverly West, and Mr. jones selected our song. I We can claim to be a real wartime graduating class since the war began in our freshman year. We did many things in our little way by helping in the fac- tory and store-by collecting scrap and selling war bonds. Between rationing and the coal shortage, truancy lost much of its fascination. The climax came when we filled out gas rationing books.
