HAHUXXV6' 34 6714.9 .YHV 6' Harding scored the first three times it got the ball and romped to an easy win over Classen. Iohn Neaves ran wild as he averaged over 10 yards a carry. One of his scampers was good for a 63-yard touchdown. The Eagles scored the first time when they were only 5:30 into the open- ing quarter. Charles Mugg climaxed a 65-yard drive as he hit Phil Glenn with a 28-yard pass. In less than three minutes Neaves took off on his long jaunt, followed by a 72-yard scoring drive. From this point, Classen found it impossible to catch Harding, and the Eagles continued to run wild. Harding played a slashing ground game and never really found it nec- essary to take to the air.

HAHUXXV5 5? 6'UfHf?!f 6' Guthrie held Harding down for over nine minutes be- fore the Eagles exploded for their third win of the season. Despite a 45-yard pass from Phil Glenn to Roy Smith in the opening minutes, Harding wasn't able to score un- til Glenn went over from nine ards out y . A 76-yard twisting run by Iohn Neaves started a 24- point outburst in the second quarter. Neaves scored an- other touchdown four minutes later and Glenn added four extra points. Reserve quarterback Hilliard Shackford tallied and kept to convert in the last two minutes of the half. An interception by Earl Ingram set up the next score early in the second half, and Neaves scored again on a 32-yard run. The lone Bluejay tally came early in the fourth quarter on a 62-yard pass play. The Eagles bounded back quickly with Charles Mugg and Iay Galt breaking into the scoring column. Fighting to keep alive, in the Capital conference race, Harding broke loose in the third and fourth quarters to trample Ibhn Marshall. The Eagles' tight defense didn't yield until a series of Iohn Marshall passes netted six points with 1:11 left in the game. In the first half Harding was unable to hold onto the ball deep in the Bears' territory despite a big lead in statistics. The Eagles returned Ine short second half kickoff to the Iohn Marshall 48, and a six-yard run by Ierry Lehman, a 13-yard reverse by Iohn Neaves, and a 24- yard pass from Phil Glenn to Chip Clark set up the score. Mugg kept around left end for the four-yard touchdown. Iay Galt's interception on the Eagle 38, an ll-yard run by Lehman, a 43-yard keeper, and a short gain by Glenn accounted for the insurance points with only 2:17 remaining. Charles Mugg meets trouble on the Harding 40-yard line.
