Fullhack Dallas Barnett takes a pitch-out from Ouarterbaek Donnie Roberts while picking up some yardage against Northeast. HARDING 26 NORTHEAST S The Harding Eagles cinched a tie for the Capitol Con- ference championship by defeating Northeast 26-8. It was the liagles fifth conference victory without a defeat. Harding started the game off in fine fashion hy scoring the first time they got their hands on the hall. They took Northeasts opening kickoff and drove T2 yards in ll plays for the touchdown. The two teams then battled to a stale- mate for the remainder of the first half. After the hall had changed hands once in the opening minutes of the second half, Hardingis Don Roherts took off on a keeper play for 51 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles scored once more in the third quarter and finished their scoring for the evening in the early minutes of the fourth quarter on a nine-play, 47-yard drive. This decisive Win over Northeast not only gave Harding a tie for the championshipg it also set the stage for the final conference battle with U.S. Grant.
