1875 Flounco Camcnn I960 In Memoriam During the '56 years she spent on tho Harding campus Mrs. Florence M. Cathcart touched the lives of thousands of students. The motto of Christian Standards found expression in all walks of her life. It was an inspiration to know her- if only by sight. for her very person radiated Charm, checrfulness, and sincere love for God and man. In 1924- shc came from Harper, Kansas, as a student to Harding College in Morrilton. Soon she was serving the college as primary teacher in its elementary training school. This position she held until 1947. She served as dean of women from 1.939 until 1947; then she became dean emeritus of wo- men. During,r this period she was also instructor of elementary education. Tlu' rnllege recugnizml lwr' lilo and service in 1951 by naming its newest wumonls dormito - nCathcart Hall. Vv'lwn a rhaplor of tho Futur Teachers nl- America was established at Harding. the Organization was namvd Wllhv Flm'onre Cathca 1 Chapter and she was made l'lmmrary Sponsor. Hor low1 for Harding is expressed through the words of tho r'Alma Materll which SlIO wrote in 1924; A living example of all the things for which Hari ding stands she will remain in Line hearts of each of us as a monument to true Christian womanhood.
