A, Dean of Women Mrs. Armstrong is known throughout the State as one of the best speech instructors in Arkansas and is known among the Christian Colleges for her work with girls, having held her present position as dean of women at Harding College since its founding m 1924, Mrs. Armstrong is a daughter of the late James A. Harding for whom Harding College was named, and has been in the Christian school work all her life She was instructor in expression and dean of women for ten years in the Cordell Christian College and held the same positions for five years at Harper Christian College. 19 3 8

PETIT JEAN J. N. ARMSTRONG M A , LL D President-Emeritus of Harding College A study of Dr, Armstrong ' s life reveals a long line of service to the cause of Christian education. Born in Tennessee, he graduated from the Nashville Bible School, from which place he went to Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he taught in the Bible school. He then went to Odessa, Cordell Christian College, Harper College, and Harding, being president of the last three schools. He was the first president of Harding College, which position he held for twelve years until his resignation in 1936. Since that time he has served as President- Emeritus and Dean of Bible. All who come in contact with him are impressed by his deep spirituality and consecration to God. 19 3 8
